Had the young bloke install a PS cooler for me yesterday and while it was on the hoist, I had a good look at the 'ol nankangs. :eyes: They have served me well and done just over 40,000 k's, but after close inspection I decided they needed replacing immediately.
So off to Geoff at Payless tyres. I was going to get another set of the nankangs but Geoff suggested I try some Kumhos as he reckons they perform as good and he could do them for a lot cheaper. So I thought, why not?
Anyway, as they started to remove the rims and get to work, I thought, wait a sec, these are the cheapest price I have ever seen for these tyres, I wonder what his rims are like. So I got them to stop work until I figured out if the new tyres were going on a new set of rims.
Into the showroom and Nick is probably going to hate me now, but there was the last of 5 sets of Coupe4 copies that Geoff had organised for some of the LS1.com guys in the States (see what you've done Nick, they saw your car and had to have those rims). I've always thought those rims were the nicest that Holden/HSV have ever put out and these copies were in 18", perfect so far. When he told me how much, I had to have them.
If you guys are after new rubber or rims, go and see Geoff at Payless Chullora, nice bloke, great service and unbeatable prices.
Now for a few pics I prepared earlier:

P.S. Nick, immitation is the greatest form of flattery :D
Very nice mate. Suits the car perfectly. :)
(For a moment there I thought maybe you went and bought a set of chromey bling-blings...nah, just kidding :p  ).
Cheers,

Suit it perfectly Scott. Good to see you fulfilling the adage of "Deny Yourself Nothing"
Now for the turbo and AWD and your set ... :D
Out of curiousity ... what of the old monaro rims?

Thanks gents,
Martin, funny you mention bling. There were a few guys there yesterday with "luxury" cars (lexus, mercs, etc) with unbelievable sized chrome rims.
Dave, haven't decided yet mate. I may keep them and throw some track rubber on at some stage or I may sell them. Too hard a question for a Sunday
Cheers,
Scott
Scotty!!!!
Noice men very noice!! Fully actualy! When are yo gong to drop some pedders in there. That will finish her off nicely.
So how much do you want for your Monaro rims??:whip: Really, how much?

:toetap: ... so when does the HSV badge go on the back ???
Jokes ... :D ... they actually look really good. I don't think they would suit a 4 door, they where made for the Coupe body. I think the geniune wheels are more of a shadow finish, mine never look that blingy. I assume you have the same size all round ??? Probably can't get 275s on the rear like I can ... :nana:
Has your car been lowered or is that stock height ?
Look forward to a closer inspection mate, and not just of the wheels ... :up2sum:

I'm hardly one to carry on about that sort of stuff ... I have GTS rims with HSV caps on the SS.
:D
It never really looked high before but it does with those wheels, bring it down a bit and it will look spot on. I'm still planning on getting the SS lowered a little, very soon actually ... just waiting on some parts.

some bilsteins and springs would set it off nicely and perhaps some harrops sitting behind the wheels :stick:
