We always seem to be having trouble with the shafts in big hp commodores breaking especially when drag racing with slicks so we have had these shafts fabricated to solve the problem. They bolt straight in and can cope with 800+hp
Just thought you might like to take a look

Bomi check out the harrop CV upgrade (http://www.harrop.com.au/products/drive_line_and_suspension/adrv8013-axle.html) (the price!!) i think the russo 800hp+ CV's are less then half that, but correct me if i am wrong RP.

Just a Question..not like I'm ever going to buy one, but, have they been tested and how, with the extra support (strenght) how does it go on a launch, do you get extra wheel grip or or do the wheels spin more due to the shafts not twisting on impact, just a question for my own curiosity.
Have they been tested on a track....

Cheers

Hi Goran

I believe Russo were testing these shafts with Sergen's GTS at WSID recently

pushing 1800kg+ down the quarter in the 9's

(there is a video around here somewhere)

forgot to ask yesterday.

are they a little shorter than the oem ones????

that would be great to allow more camber correction on the rear without punching in the axles.

Is there any further drivetrain loses through them?

Or is that what the stockers are like underneath the rubber boots?

Are they both the same size and adjustable? or is it different ones for each side?

The CHE boys had spares with them last drag day, fortunately didn't need to change any on the day..... mind you, my lame launch's were never going to break anything!

They look great, anyone doing some serious bracket racing should invest.... you'd be pissed if you broke one on the line!... and from mem, Eric's already done it on a bolt-on car.... no 800 hp jobbie there!

Thanks for that Dunc...

If Sergens GTS can handle them, they should be basically un-breakable...

Seedy, im sure someone will correct me if im wrong (ive never pulled the boots off one to have a look) but im guessing the OE shafts are a skinny cage type with a bearing race inside them similar to front wheel drive set ups.

Those big mutha universal joints wouldnt look out of place on a John Deere tractor! :up2sum:

They look great!
Have you thought of doing anything for thr BA falcon sedans at a afordable price they would sell like hot cakes as the ones that have come out so far cost a small fortune.

Your thinking is correct Grant ... I'm currently running axels from a V6 in my SS.

Choppo,

Segen's GTS using these, doing 1.4 sec 60 footers and running high 9 sec quarter, you'll be right with these!

My only issue is vibration on a road car. Have seen a similar set of shafts before however the comment was they had too much vibration for a road car. Fine for track, but no good for daily driver. Have asked Justin the same question.

bump for an old thread...Anyone using these on the street atm? Ive found both my axles are worn and in need of replacement so was looking at these but i use the car every day so vibration on the street is an issue.

we have the BMR's in the race car, if i had have known these were out and about i would have brought them as the BMR's were close to $4k with the HD stub's for the diff!!
