Seems the NSW crew are headin out for a run... how about us Queenslanders do the same....

C4B mentioned a good run to Maleny in the Brisbane PTG TTD thread which sounds mighty appealing.

Go up to Maleny/Montville. Head up past Australia Zoo and then turn left at Lansborough. Good drive, lots of winding roads and you can even have lunch at the Maleny Pub (best view). Come back down Nambour way (the road from Maleny down the hill that way is some of the best blacktop you'll find in QLD).

Meet up at Milton Macca's 9:30am for 10am departure.

Im heading up Maleny way this weekend for a cruise with my folks who are up for the weekend, im hoping to check out the pub for there lunch menu or is everyone more keen for a BBQ type lunch like the Maroon Dam cruise?

Just back from a drive up to Maleny.

Cruised down to Lake Baroon (few km's north of Maleny), great spot for lunch. Plenty of parking great spot on the dam, lotsa table and chairs with electric BBQ's. So i reckon we make our lunch spot there. Nice little road down in there to.

Heres the plan for the trip.

9:30am Milton McDonalds meet up...... 10am departure

10:30am BP Northbound Caboolture..... 10:45am departure

Cruise up to Maleny via Steve Irwin Way. Any takers from the Sunny Coast be outside Australia Zoo around 11am and when you see the LS1 convoy in ya rear view mirror's join the convoy.

From there make our way to Lake Baroon for lunch and a catch up.

After lunch drive up through Montville, Mapleton make a drink and snack stop in Nambour.

Then cruise on back down the Bruce Highway back to our respective homes.

There's a Woolworths supermarket in Maleny just before we make our turn off to Lake Baroon so if anyone needed to grab supplies for lunch you could get them from there.

If the weather was as good as it was today it should be a great day out.

Dont forget its lunch at Lake Baroon, there where BBQ's there or the old BBQ chook and rolls might go down a treat.

My young bloke lives at Caloundra and we often drive up to Maleny for Sunday breakfast when I'm up visiting. Usually in a 4 pot rental car though :headbang:

There are some fantastic stretches of road around the hinterlands of the sunshine coast.

There really were some choice driving roads on the cruise.

Round trip of abt 250kms, the drive back from Baroon Pocket Dam was great, pretty much made up the return trip at lunch time.

Next time your up here Scott let me know, Wendy and I will try and catch up for breakfast for sure.

Handed out a fair few stickers also to people who havent signed up on here yet, so im hoping the QLD crowd will get a bit bigger soon.

Well done Chowny, it was a really good day with some excellent roads, if only they could close them off for the day !! Got to see some great cars and meet some great ppl, cant wait for the next one :bravo:
