What an experience!!
Troy (aka Bomi) thought he would surprise me by taking me skydiving in Picton. Something I've always wanted to do but have never organised (the story of my life...such a procrastinator!!). I'm scared of heights but somehow thought it would be ok to jump out of a plane at 14,000 ft! And it was.
Apart from me packing darkies as we approached jumping height, I didn't really have much time to think about what the hell I was doing up there about to jump from a plane! I closed my eyes for a few seconds but heard Bomi in my head saying "open your eyes Gill!!" and I did. Believe it or not, it wasn't that scarey. In fact AMAZING was a term I would use! :bravo:
Has to go down in the history books as the best birthday present ever! We have just finished watching the dvd which was a laugh!
I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wishing to give it a go.
THANKS BOMI FOR THE BEST PRESENT EVER!!!!
Hehehe
Yep, when he told us this would be his present to you, I wondered.....you've mentioned a few times your fear of heights!
But hey, having been there and done that (sorry to crash your party) I knew you'd love it! It's one of the most awesome things I've ever done - felt 10 foot tall and bullet proof once I'd landed (maybe not so much when I was actually stepping out of the plane).
Glad it was such a great experience for you mate, great choice by Bomi !
And again, Happy Birthday to you both.
Cheers

SHARED THE PLANE UP WITH TWO TEAMS THAT ARE IN TRAINING FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPS COMMING UP SOON.
It was very cool to watch each team climb out onto the skin of the plain then all jump at once, awesome.

Sounds wicked :bravo: . I have wanted to do this. But, as a pilot, leaving a perfectly serviceable aircraft??? . On the to-do list though.
Im Envious, id love to do this, and have wanted to for a long time. My g/f is too much of a woos so her sister has said she will come and do it with me after the blast she had doing it the first time!
Now to start putting the pennys away to do this!

Next on the thrill seeking list?? Haven't really thought about it. I will tell youone thing I WON'T be doing and that's Bungee Jumping. For some reason, jumping out of a plane at 14,000ft is not as scarey as jumping off a platform attached to an elastic rope!!

I Totally agree, as stupid as it sounds, but it feels safer jumping out of a plane than off a platform tied to a bit of rubber....I'm quite sure you or Bomi will think of something crazier....

Goran I wanna take Gilly out onto Wakefield or EC with me but she wont.
She'll jump out of a plane but not get in a car on a track with me
She said she would get in Eriks car but not mine, thanks Gilly. If and when she does go for a drive with any of us I want a camera in the car to capture her screams and dash grabing
