Hey all
With only 19 days to go to the BIMF I thought it was time to get a serious idea what we're looking like group wise.
What I propose
Friday 6th April
5:00am
Meet at the Caltex Servo, GT Western Highway Glenbrook.
Depending on the number of people we'll either be in the servo or in the street that runs behind it. This way everyone has a chance to fill up their cars with petrol and their esky with ice.
Cruise to Maccas Lithgow, for those who need a caffeine hit an hour into the journey or whose tummy is rumbling, and then onto the Mountain. Because of the time of morning and the fact for some the weekend will be long enough as it is, we'll stick to the GT Western Highway rather then Bells Line Road. We can leave Bells for a proper cruise another time and have it later in the day when everyones switched on.
By leaving at 5am it gives us enough time to just cruise, as well as stop off for brekky. The first event starts at 7:40am, so we'll either make it there right on time or just after. Last year when I went it was fairly quiet especially compared to the 1000, this year shouldnt be much difference.
What to bring
* your self
* UHF radio, and if anyones got any spares please bring them so we can stay in contact as we cruise
* mobile phone - this way if we do get split up along the way we can all meet up again, or so everyone is contactable. Ive been on a cruise where we lost 7 cars out of view and out of radio contact, its not a good not knowing whats going on!!!
* your chair, umbrella (for shade / protection), sunscreen etc.
* Esky!! I'm double checking with them about their alcohol policy, whether your allowed to bring your own in or not.
* Lunch
* a biiiiiig smile :shock:
Keep in mind double demerits will be in force, I'm sure we'll look like a suss bunch as it is without attracting any more attention to ourselves, and your responsible for your own actions. Police will be out in strong force from the moment we hit the highway to the moment we arrive in the township, when I attended last years event I was passed by several cars who I then passed pulled over by the police, so they are out there.
Please let me know whose attending the BIMF on FRIDAY so I can get an idea how many too expect at the Caltex.
I wont be staying Friday night as I have to work on Saturday, but I am strongly considering travelling back Sunday morning to watch the 12 hr race with any trackchatters who might still be there, so if anyone is going just on Sunday for the 12 hr let me know so we can arrange to meet up on Sunday.
