This started yesterday when I found out I needed to claim some "reward" points and so I opted for an 8GB IPod Nano.
Even with a 6 CD changer in the car, I'm always forgetting to change them so ended up listening to the same 6 for ages. With around 2,000 songs on the IPod I figured that should be enough and decided it was time to modify the stock headunit to hook up to this new gizzmo.
I remembered Jimbo_Aus's thread on LS1 about modifying the stock 6 CD indash headunit, allowing you to plug in an Ipod or any MP3 player that has a headphone socket.
Below is the thread that Jimbo used and I followed this as well with extremely pleasing results. Two hours later and I plugged in Chris' MP3 player and voila !!! :bravo:
I'm going to run the plug into the centre console and have an incar charger ready to go for when the new Ipod arrives. Plug it in, 2,000 song selection and when you get out of the car, take it with you.

I also used this thread to remove the stereo which was the hardest part.

This is a great mod if you want to keep your stock headunit.
Cheers,
Scott
