View Full Version : Rim offset
Im currently useing HBD X series 17x8 for the street and VX SS 17x8 with 235/45/17 RE55s for the track. Ive got 3.5 negative camber but need an 8 mm spacer with the track tyres. Does any one know what rim offset i should be looking at to get more negative camber.Ive been told saloon cars run a 17 inch rim with a special offset for this reason but cant find any details about them. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Shane, not sure about the rim offset needed, but -3.5* is quite substantial. How much camber are you chasing? Duncan (& I) changed to 225 (225/40/18) at the front & it balanced the car out beautifully, with 245/40/18 rear. Much more neutral handler. I run a street/track compromise of a modest -1.5* neg front... more of a set-&-forget approach, but would love to try winding in as much camber as is possible.
I'd like another degree of neg camber because it still understeers a bit.It turns in ok but wants to run wide at the apex. Ive just put adjustable sway bars in so i mite be able to dial that out with them, im not sure yet.
