Hi mate,
Welcome to the forum.
I sincerely hope your comments are all in a sporting manner, it is a little hard to tell tone from your first post.
We welcome all makes and models here not even limited to the road ;) and appreciate all machines on their merits
Feel free to have a look around and post up all about your ride in the your car/my car thread - notice not all V8s either.
We try to maintain open, friendly, honest forum here so let us know what you think.
BTW - If people enjoy spending money on anything then to them its not wasted - as I said tell us about your ride/interests please.
Luke :)
I think what car someone chooses to modify is irrelevant... and it's the individuals choice..
Interesting way to welcome yourself to the forum, none the less... Welcome :)

Welcome RAV ... a member since October but this is your first post. Interesting. :waving:
Don't Lexus make a V8? Sorta invalidates your argument doesn't it? Anywho ... :bravo:
Very good question champ and may I now direct you to walk this way ---> Please show me any model Lexus that can be purchased for $15-$25K (including all the usual luxury features) have approx $5k in mods spent on it ... run 12 sec passes all day long and get sub 10l/100km on a highway run. In Australia we call these LS1 powered Commodores and they do sound rather nice ... even if I am biased.
I hope this goes some way to answering your question. Enjoy the forum and feel free to participate more actively.

Hi Rav20l,
What model Lexus do you drive? IS200?
I watched Neal Bates flog one of these in Targa Tasmania and was very impressed with it for its engine size an HP output.........rear wheel drive is also a big plus in a lightweight 4 cyl
Book yourself in for a trackday at Wakefield and you can show us what we're missing out on.

Its funny, there was an IS200 at Wakefield Park yesterday. I remember passing it quite a few times but it never passed me, and I was in a V8.
Welcome :D

Glad you finaly decided to post up Jason, nice first post ya tossa :whip: :yep: :lmao:
Dont listen to Jas, he's a former Holden mech and C'dore V8 driver but for some reason he swapped it for a bling bling fully sick Lexus. Its a very very nice looking car all, very! :yep:
Hope to see you on here more often, post up some pics of the Lexus and that VL turbo when you get it mate.

Different strokes for different fokes...
I wouldnt care if a turboed 4cylinder was faster, better, more refined. It will never give me the same feeling a v8 does. Its what ive grown up loving and wanting.
I also can appreciate any other car that someone else gets into.
Dan
Some of youare missing Jason post's intent, that is to take the piss so to speak.
Jas loves V8's!! But bought a Lexus for some reason :lmao:

I saw an article awhile ago about an IS200 that had a Lexus V8 fitted.... now that'd be a nice gadget... especially if the V8 was my mates 1,400 hp Lexus V8 jobbie

Yeah, that "IS200" that Bates drove in Targa, was actually a Toyota Altezza, with a 3sge 2litre 4cyl with MUCH more power then the poor old IS200. :whip:
Good to see some more Jap metal on here - have to say though, for (mostly) V8 lads, this is a really open minded bunch of lads and lasses who appreciate any interesting cars. :bravo:

This year Bates drove a Mazda 3 MPS and ran 10th overall. Pretty impressive.
Mind you, the Skelta G-Force was also VERY impressive (though result was poor as they had mechanical issues on Day1 which put them at the tail of the field). The Skelta is built in Qld, powered by a 2 L Honda from S2000. It's times on days 2, 3 & 4 were pretty much top 3 and to maintain those time they'd have had to be doing a lot of overtaking.
