Don't know if this is the right place to poat this..
Has anyone else here ever ridden a performance quad bike. Alot of people who ride trail bikes try them but I think the people who would appreciate them the most are performance car lovers.
Think Group B rally car for $5-$10 grand that you steer with your ass aswell as the trottle (don't really use the steering). Opposite before, through and after the corner. Throttle mashed all the way. Great fun.

It's probably not really the correct area to post it but i can see where you're coming from.
I must admit I do often entertain the idea of being a WRC driver when drifting sideways at 100km/h+ just 2 or 3 feet away from the trees (sometimes closer:cry: ).
And for anyone that loves oversteer in a car, do yourself a favour and spend a day riding a high performance quad.
You'll be laying down a deposit on your way home.

True! Its the only thing I've ever done for an hour that has made commit to spending that much money on the spot. Cars are still main game though.

Sorry for the bump guys, just read this thread...
After selling my CR250 i rode a Honda EX400 a couple of times which was actually a mates "tow car" for his drag RX-2. The thing was an absolute animal !!
Drift city, and so much straightline grunt that it was crazy. All you need is a dirt road and it was a recipe for disaster actually... :yep:
Another mate that had a buggered knee was riding a Yamaha Raptor 660 at the time - interestingly in a straightline there was very very little between the two...
I have to say if i am a huge dirtbike fan, but if i had the extra cash i'd own a quad as well. If you like flogging a car a quad is more for you. They are obviously vastly different in many ways but also kind of similar to a car. They can put a smile on your face that's for sure and are a bit harder to fall off on !! :bravo:
Cheers,
Paul...

Yep, they definitely have the fun factor sorted.
On the road in the wet is the most fun you can have, top gear, steering with the throttle........can't wipe the grin off your face for hours afterwards

:yep: I spent the day riding a Polaris Predator on Stockton Beach last year ...
What an absolute weapon ...
Top gear wheelies ... :yep: ,
4th Gear donuts ... :yep:
2 wheel drift across the face of a sand dune ... :yep: with some
90-100km/h on the hard packed sand near the water ... :yep: (Now that was a buzz).
50 ft rooster tails from the sand paddle tyres ... :bravo: :yep:
It was going so well that my confidence was Uber high ... so much so that said Polaris and I parted company in a moment of mixing abilites with ambitions and ... how do I put this??? ----> OUCH !!! Best summed up as a "get off" only --> over the picks.
Anywho, it was an absolute weapon.

I haven't ridden mine since having it repaired.
I managed to come off while heading back to our camping spot for some aeroguard while we were fishing...........didn't bother with a helmet as I wasn't actually out "riding", just trying to get from point A to point B.
Dirty big log with no concern for my welfare jumped out from the bush without warning.
Went from cruising along to complete silence and remember seeing dirt, sky, dirt, sky, dirt, sky..........took about 3 to 5 seconds after coming to a stop to realised what had happened.
Woke up the next morning in agony, felt like a team of baseball players had taken turns smashing me in the back with a baseball bat.

In terms of moving to Australia, the laws are very different, so you'll need to research this side and all you get quad must be in accordance with their laws. If you are going to Oz, just bought a quad there, as it would be much cheaper than trying to send more. It seems to happen given. Parents of teens allow their children to use these vehicles on the road without supervision.
